Creating a suite of websites for golf club and resort owners Foxhills.
Foxhills Collection, owners of two prestigious golf resorts, approached Chalk to design and build three new websites: one for each resort and a central ‘family’ site to represent the wider collection and support recruitment and careers.
The overarching business objective was clear – to increase online bookings and drive membership revenue.
From the outset, user experience and usability were central to the project. We began by carefully mapping site structure and user journeys to ensure visitors could move effortlessly from exploration to booking. Streamlined pathways to reservations were created, fully integrated with the Foxhills booking system, while extensive usability testing helped refine and optimise the experience.
Creatively, our aim was to establish a cohesive visual identity across the three sites while maintaining a luxurious, high-end feel that reflected the quality of the Foxhills resorts. Commissioned photography played a central role in showcasing the beautiful surroundings and extensive facilities. The design approach combined elegant serif typography for headings, reinforcing the prestige of the brand, with clean sans-serif body text to maintain clarity and balance throughout the user experience.
The new websites also provide the in-house marketing team with greater flexibility, enabling them to integrate social media activity, run targeted promotions and capture valuable user data to support ongoing marketing initiatives.
The results were immediate and impressive. Following launch, online bookings increased by an outstanding 100%. The project was also recognised by the Surrey Digital Web Awards, where the Foxhills website received a Bronze Award, while the Farleigh site was named a finalist and achieved 7th place overall.
